Predator and Prey Simulation
Title: Population of Predators and Prey change when Rates are Affected
Hypothesis: If Reproductive rate of Predator population decreases, then the reproductive rate will also decrease in order to establish a balanced ecosystem.
Results/Data:
Conclusions:
My hypothesis was supported according to the data above shown in the graph. Seeing how the population of predators decrease, affects the environment around prey enabling them to expand and reproduce as much as they please. This situation can cause a problem to the environment as proven in the chart due to resources. During time time, if the population continues to grow, then resources are taken up faster and you end up with limited supplies to only feed enough. This can eliminate a good portion of that species in order to maintain a balanced ecosystem with the remaining predators left to play their roll. This shows how in some situations, populations can be controlled and be stopped from continuing to over populate and disrupt the food chain.
